100% white wine from Catalanesca grapes grown exclusively on the slopes of Vesuvius. Organic characteristics of Catalanesca wine: straw yellow in colour, the aromas and taste of this IGT from Monte Somma are influenced by the Vesuvian agricultural territory. The hints of apricot, rowan, cantaloupe, pineapple, broom and chamomile ultimately leave room for a typical note of almond. On the palate a marked mineral vein reflects its volcanic origin. In 2011, the production specification was drawn up which led to the PGI designation of the Catalanesca del Monte Somma wine. Catalanesca white wine has a very ancient history that begins with the importation of the Catalanesca grape variety from Catalonia to the slopes of Vesuvius, by Alfonso of Aragon in the 15th century. The name Catalanesca comes from its area of origin, the Catalanesca.
